When you retain me to represent you, you can expect that I will represent you to the best of my ability and be available to answer any questions you have.  I am a solo practitioner, so I will be the one representing you throughout your case.  I am available to meet with you on weekends or after normal business hours if that is more convenient for you.  If you cannot come to me, I will visit you in your home or, in the hospital if you have severe injuries.  You can call me on my mobile phone if I am not in the office or communicate by e-mail.  Resolving your legal problems will be a joint effort.

During the initial consultation, we will talk about the facts and I will give you an opinion.  I may be unable to give you an opinion without doing research into the law; or I may feel that you should retain an attorney with expertise specific to your type of problem.

After the initial consultation, if you decide to retain me to represent you, you will sign either a contingency fee contract or a billable hour contract and we will each have a copy.  As your case progresses, you may need to provide me with more documents, the names witnesses, and other information.  I will provide you with updates on the progress of your case.  There may be long periods of time where we are waiting for the other side to respond or waiting for additional information and you may not hear from me, but that only means that I have nothing additional to tell you.  Please feel free to contact me at anytime during your representation for an update.

If we cannot resolve your legal problem without filing a lawsuit, then a lawsuit will be filed, with your permission, and we will proceed through the court system.  For most people, this is an unpleasant process.  I will try to make it as easy as possible for you.

At some point, you may be asked to make a decision as to whether to settle your case or proceed through the legal process.  We will discuss the strength of your case and all of the options available.  The ultimate decision is yours.
